http://WWW.TUNEIN.COM/RADIO/GROOVE-CITY-RADIO-S192725/

MAT.JOE DEFECTED

THIS WEEKS FEATURED GUEST MIX FROM

MAT.JOE

Mat.Joe. Matze and Johannes, two young men with a Hip Hop and House affection conquering Berlin.

Their productions come to life in a Neukölln backyard where studio equipment and DJ decks meet desiccated plants. A natural development when music has become the top priority from dusk till dawn.
Back in 2006, Rap, Breakdance and Skateboarding were the passions that made them best buddies and this deep connection is reflected in their music, again and again. In 2008, they formed the producer team Twomanics and concentrated on authentic and credible hip hop productions for independent artists. Originally from Hannover, they moved to Berlin for new artistic challenges and after MySpace, mixtapes and candy, Mat.Joe have found their own style: crispy Housebeats paired with rhythmic Soul and Hip Hop elements. The result is deep and dancefloor-qualified, warm and rough.
Inspiration is found everywhere between subway rides, late night showers and favorite bars. New ideas are kept manically on every smartphone nearby. This is sound autism at the highest stage. Mat.Joe’s love for music and the ambition to improve are the main ingredients that keep the engine running. See you there.

NEW SHOW on GROOVE CITY RADIO /// NIGHTGEIST presents HEAT /// LAUNCHES 3/03 /// 2016

NEW SHOW STARTING THIS THURSDAY

3/03

NIGHTGEIST PRESENTS

HEAT

HEAT SQUARE

GROOVE CITY RADIO are delighted to be broadcasting this brand new show starting this Thursday from 16:00 – 18:00 on the 1st Thursday of every month

The host of this unique show is none other than SUDDI RAVAL ! Suddi is best known for being one half of the 80’s/90’s rave duo TOGETHER famous with clubbers of a certain era and the sounds of the ‘Hardcore Uproar’ Anthem

Suddi is bringing his wealth of musical knowledge to our listeners and a taste of his massive music collection spanning 33 years and still going to this day with his new band NIGHTGEIST…

A MESSAGE FROM SUDDI

It’s that time again! It is Acid House day this week (3/03)… I posted out almost a hundred badges last year and on the whole I enjoyed doing it. 99% of people were really happy but some blocked me cos their badge arrived late?! Nice! I even had to order more cos I only had 50 at first… So I’m not doing that this year… Instead I have a new gift for you the gift of music.

When you have bought dance records for the last 33 years, squeezing your favourites into 2 hours is tricky… but millions of fun

The guys at Groove City Radio asked me if I’d like to play some tunes for 2 hours so later this week, we will see the first “Nightgeist presents H.E.A.T” (house, electro, Acid, techno)

I’ve not announced it properly cos I’m waiting on getting some artwork done but to give you an idea…

I have got Connor Acid‘s new tune with a pretty in depth interview with him. An amazing brand new electro/acid mix by the most underrated DJ in the world, Krispy Chris Collins and 2 hours of the best tunes from the last 33 years… Oh and a tiny bit of Nightgeist at the end  it’d be stupid not to with a record coming out

I try to play tunes as close to “in their entirety” as possible – I like intros, I like beats and so does everyone else so I’m not depriving people of that

I was gonna have Niki on doing a guest “weekly best tune” cos she has provided me with so much of my fave music over the years but she has only gone and got herself preggers. So selfish! Her bit was gonna be called “Perfect Records Of Complete Topness” PROCT. So it was gonna be “PROCT with Proctor” but as I said she has a pretty good excuse for getting out of this one

My other regular feature about “big drums” is not happening in this 1st one either cos I ran out of time but it has the best name a radio feature about Big Drums could have: (are you ready for this?) “Does My Drum Look Big in this?” – told you

… And remember I’m new to this, so I’m a bit rough around the edges so just concentrate on the amazing records not my “presenting”

So get your tape recorders on pause ready to cut out the talking … I’ll post a reminder before it is broadcast.

TOGETHER

TOGETHER

The band was created by Manchester Hacienda regulars Suddi Raval and Jon Donaghy along with Rohan Heath, formerly of A Guy Called Gerald and later the driving force behind the Urban Cookie Collective. Suddi and Jon went on to do remixes for the Durutti Column before Jon’s death in a road accident in Ibiza in 1990.

The band’s hit, Hardcore Uproar, was originally only intended as a white label to play at Manchester’s Hacienda Club[3] but grew in popularity such that it climbed to number 12 on the British charts. The song was written by Jon (Jonathon) Donaghy, Mark Hall and Suddi Raval though the underlying chord sequence was heavily based on featured samples from John Carpenter‘s The End,[4][5] a 1983 Dutch scratching Italo disco 12″ (itself a reworked version of Carpenter’s theme tune toAssault on Precinct 13).[6][7] Hardcore Uproar also includes sound effects of whooping crowds recorded live at an illegal rave-party in Nelson which was, coincidentally, raided by police the same night as the recording had been made.[8] The song’s title was taken from the popular name of these Blackburn raves.[9]

The song’s vibe and catchy title meant it was also applied to a popular compilation of what were then mainstream rave, techno and pop tunes by artists as diverse as 808 State, Betty Boo and A Tribe Called Quest[10] helping to popularise the term hardcore for this type of rave music.[11] The song has since appeared on at least four other compilations.[12]

In 2011 Hardcore Uproar was reworked in various versions by Manchester rapper Trigga and Italian vocalist Sushy

TFI FRIDAY RADIO presents LISA LASHES on GROOVE CITY RADIO /// FRIDAY 4TH MARCH 2016 /// 20:00 – 22:00 gmt

THE ORIGINAL QUEEN OF DANCE

THIS FRIDAY… CAZMAC brings you a very special exclusive to GROOVE CITY RADIO guest mix from

Miss LISA LASHES

http://www.groovecityradio.com

The only woman to ever break into the Top 10 of DJ MAG’s Top 100 DJs, Lisa Lashes’ prolific career in dance music spans 18 years of entertaining clubbers across the globe.

No stranger to the biggest events worldwide, December 2014 saw her finishing a whirlwind month of 10 gigs taking in 7 countries, by headlining Cape Town street festival alongside Pendulum, bringing her unique, driving electronic sounds to adoring South African masses, while at the same time hitting Top 5 in the Beatport charts with her last release of the year, ‘Dis You’ and reaching Number 1 in the Beatport sounds chart with her first sample pack.

A true DJ’s DJ, Lisa’s focus, passion and presence behind the decks is a force to be reckoned with, commanding pure, unfaltering devotion from a huge, loyal and supportive worldwide fan base. Lisa dazzles crowds with her tricks, skills, flawless mixing and passion for scratching. Never complacent, Lisa thrives on musical perfectionism, continually upping her fierce game.

Dividing her time between touring and tireless late night studio hours makes Lisa’s discography an impressive read. Commanding one of the biggest-selling Euphoria albums of all time, her releases span musical genres from Hard Dance to Trance, Breaks, and more recently Psytrance and Electronica. 2015 now sees Lisa following her heart to the dark side of Techno, with the support of none other than ‘The Boss’ Carl Cox, who premiered her first Techno release, a remix of the much-loved Stage 1 classic ‘Space Manoeuvres,’ on the main stage at Ultra Music Festival, swiftly followed by dropping it to home crowds at Victoria Warehouse at Manchester’s amazing Albert Hall.

After the release of Lisa’s secret mix archives from ‘back-to-mine’ sessions in her private basement studio, Lisa’s fans now demand more Techno from her, leading her to launch a series of exclusive, intimate and underground ‘Origin-L’ parties around the UK, bringing all the elements of an after-party session back at Lisa’s place to the party, the first one kicking off on Gay Pride Day in Brighton on 1st August.

On tour, Lisa’s globalgig repertoire would make any artist jealous. There’s no continent Lisa hasn’t played. Recently Stateside can’t get enough of our English Rose with her debut performance at Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas event and her invitation to play in NYC for the 4th July celebrations.

Delivering on all levels, Lisa’s podcast consistently reaches the Top 2 in the Mixcloud charts and is in iTunes Recommends’ Top 10 monthly dance casts in the world. You can also catch her radio show on Digitally Imported on the 4th Friday of every month.

A true Queen of Dance, all rise and dance ‘til dawn for Miss… Lisa Lashes!
