THE SOULJACK SHOW presents Christmas Special with guest mix from J Paul Getto Saturday 27th Dec 2014 / 14:00-16:00gmt

On this weeks Souljack show with Paul & Coco they bring you a guest from J Paul Getto.

J Paul Getto started in September of 2010 with the help of Maurice Tamraz & Neil Petricone (X-Mix Productions) and has been breaking ladies hearts ever since. With a truly unique style in today’s disco house scene, JPG samples classic disco elements by integrating them into his work and creating a full and overwhelming atmosphere that is to be felt as much as it is to be heard. Excitement, euphoria and an uncontrollable urge to dance; these are all normal feelings you will encounter the second you hear a J Paul Getto track. With a sound as big as this, the international scene is left begging for each new release. Tony Saputo is from Palermo (Italy) and now based in Boston USA. Already they’ve made an array of original works, earning thousands of plays on his SoundCloud profile with those numbers growing every day. For only a taste of the J Paul Getto experience, here are four of their original productions just to give you an idea of what to expect. As always, the desired method of consuming these tracks is to give your ears the head can treatment or to let your bones rattle under the force of the club subwoofer.

THE SILKY SHOW presents a Boxing Night Special with Guest mix from Luigi Rocca. Friday Dec 26th 2014 20:00-00:00gmt

Bryan & Alan bring yet another global name to Groove City Radio, also introducing one of Silky’s new residents David Dawson joining them live in the studio.

Luigi Rocca (born in 1982 in Torino, Italy) is an Italian music producer and recording artist also known as Marshall. In his music he is driven to fuse elements of house and techno. He is a co-owner of the Italian music labels [1] and hotfingers [2] – in 2007 alongside Alex Kenji and Manuel De La Mare.

It was this dedication, forged with a comparable high-spirited passion of Alex Kenji and Manuel De La Mare, which led to the formation of the trios chart topping imprints Hotfingers and 303Lovers. To date the two labels have amassed a string of high profile releases and have under their respective umbrellas released material from a wide selection of artists that include Richard Dinsdale, Umek, Kolombo, Paul Thomas, Wally Lopez, Dj Chus, Paolo Mojo and many more.

Playing his trade with his own productions Luigi has frequently found his music charting high within download sales and frequently being snapped up by esteemed labels from Tiger Records and Definitive Recordings to 1605 and Ministry of Sound.

In 2010 and 2011 his releases have graced the Top 10 of various genre charts on Beatport – both his singles ‘Voodoo’ and ‘Ezili Can’t Speak’ held strong the number 1 spot in Beatport’s Top 10 minimal chart upon their releases, whilst in the Beatport tech house chart tracks ‘Just Believe’, ’NDKj – Funkest Star (Marshall Remix)’, ‘Turin Quality Clubbing’, ‘Wally Lopez & Ismael Rivas – Is Deeper (Marshall Remix)’, ‘Black Conga’ all charted in the Top 10. Whilst his tech house rumbler ‘Swahili Song’ peaked at #1. His follow up release ‘Liftered’ not only claimed the #1 spot but also went on to be nominated by Beatport as “One of the best tracks of 2010”.

Luigi Rocca also reached the tops in 2012 with the big room banger Tam Tam [1605] that he did in collaboration with Manuel De La Mare. Followed more blowing up originals in collaboration with Pleasurekraft, John Acquaviva, Manuel De la Mare and Hugo. Not to forget his unforgettable house remix of the classic Keep on Jumpin that has been released on Joe Negro’s label Z Records and stayed weeks on number one overall chart. After two months on #2 techno chart his track Krakra Hurricane (in collaboration with a rising producer Dj Lion) becomes a total dancefloor banger.Luigi also compiled two compilations Love Is In The Air and Tales Of A Lost Lover. Luigi and Manuel De La Mare produced another tech house single called “Opa Locka” (released on Mark Knight’s Label Toolroom Records.

The end of 2012 saw Luigi selecting and mixing one of the Toolroom Knights compilations together with the producers and djs Alex Kenji and Manuel De La Mare.

Those Beats were born from Mark Scott and Brendan Hislop’s shared love of music, and of the culture that surrounds it. Using their extensive knowledge of the dance floors of Glasgow and beyond the local duo have combined their vast knowledge of what makes good house music to create their own signature sound. The fusion of their shared musical influences; from Soul, Funk, Disco to House, Garage and Techno has created a sound that is experimental but maintains a raw element of simplicity and soul. Bypassing the commercially influenced Deep House sound and staying true to their underground roots has led to the creation of an elegant musical sound for the educated dance floor.

Their debut release on Glasgow Underground gained support from the likes of Pete Tong, Sasha, Dusky, Groove Armada, B Traits, Jimpster, Simon Baker, Justin Sloe (Culprit), Amine Edge, Dimitri Nakov, Kiki (BPitch Control), Tom Flynn, Benoit (Tsugi), Harri & Domenic(Subclub), Viktor (Miaur/Tensnake) and Stacey Pullen.
